Marathon Clinic

Dennis Budd, of the Southern Utah Tri Club is putting on a Marathon Clinic. He helped me get my PR last year, so in my opinion, he has some good tips and training strategies.

Summer Workout Schedule

a small change in the workout schedule, if anyone is interested. it is getting too hot to do track at 10:30 so we are changing it to 7:45 am on thursdays.

so here are some of the regular workouts.

tuesday, tempo run with tom and ty, 5:30am, la verkin stake center
tuesday, mt bike ride with dj, 10:30 am, over the edge sports
tuesday, road ride with quentin, 6:30 pm, over the edge sports
thursday, track work with tom and ben, 6:15 am, hhs track
thursday, track work with elizabeth and a bunch of others, 7:45 am, hhs track
saturday, various runs and rides

and don't forget to register for the Hurricane Trails River Run on July 3. Forms are at Classic Sports, Over the Edge Sports and the City Offices. Or register online at www.runnercard.com.

Spring Workout Update

It has been a long time since we have done any real organized workouts. Sorry. But let's get together and start running and biking and swimming.

Currently, there are a number of regular workouts taking place that are open to all. So feel free to join us and also, let us know what other workouts there is an interest in and we can get more going.

Tuesday, 5:30 am, La Verkin Stake Center, Tempo runs with Tom and Ty
Tuesday, 10:30 am, Over the Edge Sports, women's mountain bike rides with DJ
Tuesday, 6:30 pm, Over the Edge Sports, road ride with Quentin
Thursday, 6:15 am (I think), HHS track, speed with Tom and Ben
Thursday, 10:30 am, HHS track, speed or jog or run with a big group while our kids have fun.
Saturdays, there are usually runs and/or rides taking place every Saturday, so let us know your interest and we'll make sure you get the info.

  • July 3, 7:04 am, Stout Park, Hurricane Trails River Run. Click here or here for more info.

wednesday: 6 pm, open water swim, sand hollow
thursday: 6:15 am, track workout with tom, hhs
thursday: 6:30 pm, road ride, over the edge sports

good luck to all those doing the peach days or the trails run this weekend. have fun and don't get injured.

butch cassidy registration is open. It will take place on saturday, november, 7 at 10 am. forms are at classic sports or on runnercard.com. it filled up last year, so don't delay. Click here for more info.

thursday: 6:15 am, track workout with tom, hhs
thursday, 6:30 pm, road ride, over the edge sports
saturday, somewhere between 5 and 6 am, long run, 10-20 miles, either marathon course or hurricane walmart to wash rec center and back. let me know about interest in this one and preference on time and location. there are a few of us going for sure and i will let you know all the details when we decide.

thursday, 6:15 am track workout with tom, hhs track.
thursday, 6:30 pm, road ride, over the edge sports
saturday, 5 am, first half of the marathon course run thanks to Cory. Contact him for more details (862-6521) or southern utah tri club is also meeting at rezultz fitness at 5 to run 18 miles of the course.
